Miscellaneous Info – Najma started her career in 1945 in two Hindi films i.e. Nasib opposite Kumar and Pramila and Piya Milan opposite Motilal and Nirmala. The she played the lead in the Muslim social Haqdar (1946) before she was cast in the most important film of her career – Parwana (1947) where she played K.L. Saigal’s wife. After partition she left for Pakistan and appeared in its maiden film Teri Yaad (1948) in a secondary role. After that she acted in few more Urdu and Punjabi films including Hichkolay, Hamari Basti and Billo. Harjai (1952) was her last Urdu film before she disappeared without a trace.
