Miscellaneous Information – Ankhari Nishan was the 2nd film produced and directed by Ashfaq Malik. Like Baaghi (1956), it was an action packed film with Meena Shorey and Sudhir in the leading roles. This was the last hit Urdu film of Meena Shorey as the leading lady. In one of his interviews Ashfaq Malik mentioned that he realized the importance of music in films for the first time when he directed Salma (1960) which was based on the importance of higher education and replaced Rehman Verma with Rashid Attre – who composed the music of his first two films. I don’t know why Ashfaq Malik made that statement because both Baaghi and Akhari Nishan had extremely melodious music.
